A lucky few got a bike. It was all thanks to members of the South Union Community Development Center. Efrem Jernigan, president of the organization, said it all started with three bikes as a donation from a local group then more toys started piling up.<br /><br />"All of this just happened so in two weeks it came together we expected about three to four hundred people and we have three to four hundred people," said Jernigan<br /><br />Parents were definitely grateful.<br /><br />"Its very giving because there are a lot of families that cant afford it because they have kids and it was very nice," said Samantha Barnes<br /><br />"Its a blessing that people look out for you so you wont have to worry about your kids not having anything so its a blessing," said Tamari Matthews<br /><br />Jernigan said seeing the children smile warmed his heart and made it all well worth it.<br /><br />"When you give God an opportunity to shine he usually does, we prayed about this its our first time doing it, we see smiling faces and I'm happy with that," said Jernigan<br /><br />The South Union Community Development Center holds a weekly food pantry for needy families in the community.
